Network Penetration Testing

Organizational network infrastructures — both internal and external serve as the first line of defense against cyber threats.

A Network Penetration Test provides a comprehensive assessment of the security posture of internal networks, servers, communication components, internet-facing services, and the organization’s external footprint.

The goal is to identify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and critical vulnerabilities that could allow unauthorized access, system compromise, or data leakage.

Uncover Critical Vulnerabilities with a Professional Network Penetration Test

Cyberattacks targeting infrastructure whether originating externally or from within the internal network, can lead to full system compromise, data theft, operational damage, and severe business impact.

A Network Penetration Test is designed to identify these risks before attackers take advantage of them.

At RedEntry, we perform comprehensive internal and external network penetration tests based on leading cybersecurity standards (NIST, PTES, MITRE ATT&CK), tailored precisely to your environment and risk profile.

Our assessments combine automated scanning with deep manual research to uncover complex, advanced vulnerabilities.

Maor David Levi

CTO at WeCom

“The RedEntry team conducted a comprehensive network penetration test for us — and the results exceeded every expectation.

The assessment was thorough, professional, and transparent throughout the entire process.
We received a detailed, practical, and easy-to-understand report that highlighted risks we were not aware of, along with recommendations we could implement immediately.

I highly recommend RedEntry to any organization that wants to ensure its infrastructure is truly secure.”

Benefits of Network
Penetration Testing

Network Penetration Testing delivers significant value—both in cybersecurity resilience and overall organizational strength:

Real-time vulnerability identification

deep analysis and real exploitation techniques

Compliance with standards & regulations

including ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and privacy regulations

Prevent breaches and data leakage

simulating external and internal attacks

Assessment of defensive maturity and system behavior

Continuous improvement of organizational cybersecurity posture

Reduced business and operational risks

Our Network Penetration Testing

Internal Network Penetration Test

This assessment simulates a scenario where an attacker already has access to the internal network—whether through phishing, identity theft, impersonation, or a malicious insider.

The test includes:

  • Full mapping of the organizational network and internal asset scanning
  • Attempts to access sensitive systems without authorization
  • Evaluation of network hardening policies
  • Bypassing endpoint and network security controls
  • User permission review and Privilege Escalation attempts
  • Deployment of malicious files to test defense responses
  • Use of common attack frameworks (Metasploit, Responder, etc.)
  • Credential harvesting and authentication hijacking (including Active Directory)
  • Lateral Movement between network segments
  • Establishing persistent footholds within the network
  • Attempts to create external access using Reverse Shell techniques
  • Attempts to access critical servers and high-value systems

Goal:

Understand how much damage an internal attacker can cause—and how quickly such activity can be detected and stopped.

External Network Penetration Test

This assessment simulates a real-world cyberattack originating outside the organization, attempting to penetrate internal systems from the internet.

The test includes:

  • External Attack Surface Mapping
  • Scanning and identifying exposed services (Web interfaces, open ports, VPN endpoints, etc.)
  • Vulnerability detection across internet-facing assets
  • OSINT collection that may influence risk levels
  • Identifying misconfigurations in perimeter and network infrastructure
  • Attempted penetration into internal networks from the outside
  • Attempts to access critical systems
  • Evaluation of email infrastructure security and mail server hardening
Identification of critical weaknesses enabling intrusion or security bypass

Goal:

Reveal real entry points that external attackers can use to compromise the organization.

Tools We Use

Our Approach to Network Penetration Testing

01

Preparation & Scoping

We hold a kickoff meeting with key stakeholders, review the network architecture, and define the test boundaries, scenarios, and objectives.

For internal tests, we receive access to a workstation with standard user privileges.

For external tests, we define IP ranges and internet-facing assets.

02

Mapping & Information Gathering

We perform comprehensive fingerprinting of network components, servers, protocols, and active services.

We identify potential entry points, weak configurations, excessive permissions, exposed services, and intelligence that may aid an attacker.

This phase combines automated scanning with advanced manual analysis to create a complete attack surface intelligence map.

03

Controlled Exploitation

We simulate realistic cyberattacks following NIST, PTES, and MITRE ATT&CK methodologies.

This stage may include: Security control bypass, Unauthorized resource access attempts, Privilege escalation, Lateral movement, Credential harvesting and more.

All actions are thoroughly documented for full reproducibility

04

Findings Report & Remediation Guidance

We convert all findings into a clear, actionable, and business-oriented report.
The report includes: Risk ratings by severity, Technical documentation & screenshots, Remediation recommendations and Prioritization based on business impact.

We also support the remediation process and perform a Retest, including a final certificate.
